We are an extension of an ever-growing family business nestled in the heart of the bluffs, ridgetops, and valleys of Southwest Wisconsin.
Our story of Why Not starts over 40 years ago, when a cowboy lay on a stretcher outside of an arena. At the very moment the EMTs paused to adjust, a young college student attending her first rodeo happened to be in a pinch spot, standing over the stretcher. It didn’t look good, so she did what she could. She said a prayer over the cowboy, then stepped out of the way of her future father-in-law, who followed the EMTs.
In the summer of 1986, when Micheal and Diane got engaged. Diane said, "Yes, maybe someday," with the response, "Why not now?"
Life happened. Careers started, kids, etc
Why not buy a farm?
Why not another farm? This one has a house.
Why not build our own feed mill?
The kids grew up with a passion for agriculture and chose to stay involved, growing with the operations and being a part of decision-making conversations along the way.
Why not add some more land?
Why not expand with a Grain Facility?
Why not add another farm? It’s a big one-of-a-kind investment. We could keep iconic farmland intact in its original industry. There would be enough space for all the family members to grow in the operations if they chose to. It will be ok. God’s got this.
We firmly believe that all of these things happened for a reason. They have shaped who we became - built relationships and resilience, creating the tight family unit we are today.
Why not return to what started this whole adventure and get back into rodeo, this time hosting one?
Why not continue to build a legacy? What started as a family of 5 has since grown to 13, all with a love for agriculture. The only thing stopping us is us. So why not take the risk and give it our all? Not only for us, but for the next generation.
Why not make the best of what we are given and give back?
Why not make a difference and live life to the fullest?
